though its looking so great at your screen shot but i have ended also with visually disturbed desktop, nothing looks pretty or sharp ,
and menus and launchers are a lot less functional than that of a plasma desktop
i haven't found any problem with editing themes and config file but i have decided to leave this project and wait for something more functional that comes along with more visual styles
and I would like to have these sensors you use at lower panel to the left at my desktop, but I didn't have any luck to find them
Well you got it,i'm not happy too with the system tray of Be::Shell, it's incomplete, unuseful.
Indeed it has less functionality than plasma, the point of this desk is the KISS philosophy.
For the sensors they are in be-shell, in this file i uploaded you won't find them (the config file is in my previous theme), and in these first attempts to customize the shell they were bound to a bespin preset, otherwise (so for anyone who use it without binded be.shell to a preset that uses white fonts) they're black - unreadable on the panel. Fortunately the author have fixed the sensors issue. Anyway for add a sensor, write its name in the panel list, like here:
[ BottomPanel] Applets=RamMeter,CpuMeter,NetMeter,Taskbar,Stretch,Pager
My next theme will be more flexible (improved menus and a taskbar similar to icon only tasks plasmoid).
Stay tuned in case the author will upgrade the shell with new functions and widgets!!
Sorry
Actually what i wrote months ago was a complaining due to my ignorance.
Besides the fact that the systray became useless to me since a while,
i found how to customize it in a proper way....i guess, we'll see
in my next theme, incoming soon
P.s. Are you Thomas ?
Systray icons *were* completely underdeveloped (because they are a dumb approach that derived from small Win98 sources like winamp -used to be a very small player- and the language selector and compeltely ran out of scope for the only reason to unclutter the equally stupid taskbar
P.s. seems one of my aka's
....Welcome on DA
Thanks (though the account is mostly to post to the group)
... jaja ... "You're welcome" - We'll try to skip that pleasantry stuff, ok?
